PS3 firmware update 4.50 brings auto-downloads to all
SCEE will release a new PS3 firmware update today, October 1, that will unlock the automatic downloads feature for all PSN users.
Once users have installed the update, version 4.50, they will be able to utilise the feature that allows PS3 to automatically download system software updates and purchases - a feature previously reserved for PlayStation Plus subscribers only.
The new update will also add the ability to transfer data, such as games, movies and other media, from PS3 to Vita via a wireless Wi-Fi connection, doing away with the requirement to use a USB cable.
It also adds new privacy settings for Trophies, allowing users to set which Trophies are visible to other players.
Sony announced the news via EU-specific channels. SCEA is yet to confirm a release for US territories.
